Ohayocon needs you!

We are having a steampunk event on the Friday night of OhayoCon and we still need more people!

The Clockwork Crescendo

Steampunk Competition
This is a contest where participants are judged on the craftsmanship (design, construction, execution, and general presentation) of a costume based in the Steampunk genre. Costumes may be a Steampunk intrepretation of a known character or an original design. This competition does not conflict with the Masquerade Competitions and you may enter both!
You can enter as no matter your age or skill level!

Steampunk Category- This covers all original design costumes as well as reinterpretations of known characters. Must be 65% handcrafted by the participant. Participant will be judged on both Costume & props (if applicable) Props should compliment the outfit and not just a random grouping of things.
SteamProp Category- This is for Props only, Participant's costumes will not be judged. Must be 65% handcrafted by participant. All Weapon & Costume policies apply.

Steampunk Awards
Overall Steampunk King/ Queen (highest overall score)
Best Male Outfit
Best Female outfit
Best Group/ Outfit
Best Prop
Honorable Mention (up to 5, selected by Judges)

This competition will take place on Friday and the Overall winner will be introduced to Ohayocon during the Masquerade (provided they are not competing in another costume). Overall Winner will receive convention admission and a prize. Other winners will receive prizes as well.

Gaijin USA at OhayoCon

Hey Everyone,
In case you have not heard, Gaijin USA will have a table at OhayoCon 2009.
We are currently going through Changes here at Gaijin USA.   One such change is the addition of Gaijin USA Star Girls.  If you are over the age of 18 and feel as if you might be interested in helping us out by being one of our "Star Girls" feel free to check out the application and release forms on http://www.gaijinusa.com .
Even if you are not interested or qualified to be a "Star Girl, go to the site and see many of the changes that we are currently making to Gaijin USA.
We are excited to be at OhayoCon in 2009, and hope to see many fans of Gaijin USA there.

Table Swap question
Hi, I have a question.

I'm part of Anime North staff, and for Ohayocon 2007 we want to do a table swap with Ohayocon. Table swap as in a table to handout some ANorth program guides, and in return we'll give free passes of Anime North to Ohayocon. Who can I talk to to make the necessary arrangements?

www.ohayocon.com IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE CURRENT CONVENTION, AND DOES NOT REPRESENT THE VIEWS OR BELIEFS OF THE CURRENT OHAYOCON STAFF. ...unlike He Who Hijacks, we actually LOVE Greg Ayres.

Anime & screenwriting in Columbus, OH next October
Hi everyone,

Context 19 will feature anime and anime discussion panels; anime writer/director/voice actor Tristan MacAvery (Gendo Ikari in the Evangelion series) will be one of the guests of honor at the convention.

If you want to write anime, please join award-winning screenwriter and instructor Diana Botsford for an intensive 3-hour introduction into the world of writing for animation, television and film. Gain an understanding of how the script process affects the development of plot, character development and theme. Through discussion, viewing and hands-on exercises, learn how to use the visual (and aural!) medium to tell your story beyond the printed page.

Ms. Botsford has directed over 1,000 hours of animation, written for Star Trek, was visual effects director for From Dusk Till Dawn, and has produced a variety of other television series and movies.

The workshop will be held on October 7, 2006 in Columbus, OH.

Pre reg
My friend is trying to pre-reg us for Ohayocon 06, but it appears that the website is down. She has been trying for over 2 weeks now to do it. Can anyone please relay to me what information she needs to send to the pre-reg department, as well as the address to send it to!

There's little time left so any info that can be given ASAP will be appreciated.

Pre-reg
Okay, I have no faith that the site will be back up anytime soon. I sent out an email, but I decided to post here as well, in case I don't get a reply before I leave for vacation next week.

I need to pre-reg! And it looks like I'm going to have to do this offline. But I need info! If someone could give me the following info, I'd greatly appreciate it!

What's the address that I need to sent the payment to?
How much is it for one full weekend pass?
Who do I make the check out to?
Other than name, address, and email, is there any other info that's required?

Thanks for any info!
